Yankees GM Brian Cashman sleeps on street to raise money for homeless

New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman led a group of participants who slept on the cold streets of New York City on Thursday for a good cause.

Cashman slept outside a Covenant House at West 41st Street in Manhattan to help support a nationwide event to raise money for homeless children and adolescents.

"I don't know how any human beings can deal with this on a daily, weekly, monthly basis," Cashman said, according to Wallace Matthews of ESPN New York. "There's no comfort on that ground. Even one night is terrible. With all the elements, with nature. It’s not right. No one should have to live like that."

It marked the fifth consecutive year Cashman has participated in the event.
