Bulls' Gibson out vs. Jazz with sprained ankle

Craig Mitchelldyer-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Bulls will be without forward Taj Gibson when they take on the Utah Jazz on Monday evening, head coach Tom Thibodeau confirmed.

Gibson sprained his left ankle when he got tangled up with Wesley Matthews during the third quarter in Portland on Saturday. He left the game and did not return, and was subsequently listed as day-to-day.

Gibson has averaged 12.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.1 blocks in 12 games for the Bulls this season.

Derrick Rose (strained hamstring) and Pau Gasol (calf strain) are considered game-time decisions for the game in Utah, while Kirk Hinrich is questionable with a chest injury.
