In Martin Hanzal's return to the lineup, the Arizona Coyotes gave up a three-goal lead after the first period, and lost in overtime 4-3 to the Colorado Avalanche.
Hanzal was held pointless through the contest and landed an ill-advised check to the head of defenseman Erik Johnson in overtime. He was not penalized on the play.
Hanzal scored in overtime but on the wrong net, deflecting the puck past Mike Smith.
It wasn't a great comeback for Hanzal.
