Ryan Garbutt will be celebrating Thanksgiving with a twist this year.
The Dallas Stars forward will have a hearing Thursday for kneeing Edmonton's Taylor Hall during a 3-2 win over the Oilers on Tuesday, the NHL Department of Player Safety has announced.
Hall was not injured on the play, but Garbutt's prior offense will certainly be a factor in the NHL's decision in this case.
Garbutt was suspended for five games last season for a hit to the head of then Anaheim Ducks forward Dustin Penner.
