Real Madrid isn't just about the big-money, established stars. Contrary to what the past two summers have suggested, the club does dip into the youth market every now and again. It's a rarity, but it happens.

Real Mallorca's teenage winger Marco Asensio has seemingly been pegged as the next entry on that exclusive list.

The 18-year-old has been impressive in the Spanish second division this season, and he is expected to sign with Madrid in January before being immediately loaned back to Mallorca for the remainder of the campaign.

“We will see what happens this week because in this club anything can happen,” Asensio told radio station Cadena SER, as reported by the Guardian. “Real Madrid have decided and I am really happy. I’m looking forward to seeing the finalisation of the deal in order to make everyone calmer - the club, me and Real Madrid.

“It is an honour that the best clubs are fixed on me, and Real Madrid are the best of the best. The agreement is for five seasons and now it’s for me to enjoy," the Spanish U-19 international added.
