Kevin Grosskreutz writes passionate letter urging Dortmund fans to keep the faith

With Borussia Dortmund unthinkably sitting rock bottom in the Bundesliga table following yet another loss this past weekend, the feeling around the club has started taking a turn for the worse.

Prevailing thought always said that the German club would turn things around. It would get better. This is Dortmund after all, it had to. And yet, it hasn't.

The club's supporters, often cited as being among the best on the planet, have resorted to jeering the players of late. With just 11 points in 13 matches, it's not undeserved.

But versatile midfielder Kevin Grosskreutz is calling for solidarity. The 26-year-old took to Instagram following the club's 2-0 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt, urging the supporters to stick behind the club and help them get through their worst-ever start to a Bundesliga season.

Hey Ultras/Fans/Friends. A lot has been said and written. Normally you shouldn't say or write anything as a player in this situation but shut up and perform on the pitch. I know that it is like that! I still wanted to say something! For me personally and the team it is a totally new situation abut we got ourselves into this mess and no one else! I totally understand the reaction after the game even though it hurts my soul! On the one hand my friends in the stand who are angry and sad and then my friends and me on the pitch that feel the same but whose own fault it is! Like I said the reaction was totally right! however, we shouldn't make the mistake like other clubs and not go through this together and we should definitely not single out players or insult them! We have failed as a team and as a team we have to get out of this. And believe me I don't wan to sugercoat anything! Especially now it is all about the club Borussia Dortmund and you have to give everything for that! We do anyways but we need you for it, otherwise it will end up like with other clubs who also never thought they'd be at the bottom and never managed to get out of there! Sorry for the long words but that is how I feel right now and it's coming from the heart! But one thing will remain, Borussia Dortmund will never go down!

You can feel him saying every word.
