Fantasy: Waiver Wire - Week 14

Timothy T. Ludwig / USA TODAY Sports

Each week, theScore's fantasy editors will run down the top waiver wire pickups with a focus on the coming week and the rest of the season.

Quarterback

Johnny Manziel, Browns

vs. Colts, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET

If you qualified for the playoffs in your league, you probably already have a good starting quarterback in place. If by some chance you don't (or maybe you play in a two-quarterback league), consider adding Manziel for your title push. Though he still hasn't been officially named starter (though that could change by the time you read this), it's clear Manziel gives the Browns a spark they badly need on offense, and his rushing ability gives him a very high ceiling in fantasy football. Bet on him becoming the starter.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Texans

at Jaguars, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET

Fitzpatrick passed for a franchise-record six touchdowns Sunday and gets favorable matchups against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts in the next two weeks. Never scared to sling the ball, Fitzpatrick is a boom-or-bust player who's as likely to throw four touchdowns as he is to turn the ball over four times. If you like to swing for the fences, he's worth a look.

Running Back

Doug Martin, Buccaneers

at Lions, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET

Martin took back his starting job with his best performance in a long time Sunday. Though his 18 carries for 58 yards and a touchdown didn't exactly break fantasy records, there's no denying Martin ran hard and looked good. If he's on your waiver wire, snatch him up on the off-chance he finishes the year strong. There's always one guy who pops up out of nowhere and carries teams to the fantasy championship. It's not insane to suggest this year it might be Martin.

Jonathan Stewart, Panthers

at Saints, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET

DeAngelo Williams has a fractured bone in his hand and the Panthers might finally be forced to do what they should have done weeks ago: make Stewart the featured piece in their rushing attack. Stewart will never live up to the tantalizing potential he displayed early in his career, but he's healthy and talented enough to offer value as a deep RB3 or FLEX for this year's fantasy playoffs.

Marion Grice, Cardinals

vs. Chiefs, Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET

Grice's potential value hinges on whether teammate Andre Ellington is able to play through a hip pointer. He's purely a defensive add for Ellington owners or those hoping to prevent Ellington owners from grabbing Grice as insurance. Stepfan Taylor would also be in the mix for carries if Ellington is ruled out.

Wide Receiver

Kenny Stills, Saints

vs. Panthers, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET

Fantasy owners have been slow to come around to Stills and he's still owned in less than half of fantasy leagues. That needs to change. With the Saints offense finally finding its mojo and Brandin Cooks on IR, Stills could be a difference-maker in the playoffs, as he was in Week 13. Don't expect 162 yards and a touchdown every week, but high-end WR3 production is realistic.

Davante Adams, Packers

vs. Falcons, Monday at 8:30 p.m. ET

Adams benefited from the New England Patriots' decision to focus their coverage on Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb, catching six passes for 121 yards and nearly scoring a touchdown in Week 13. He's a risky proposition in fantasy because he's not always a big part of the Packers' game plan, but he's on the WR3 radar.

Donte Moncrief, Colts

at Browns, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET

Moncrief has leapfrogged Hakeem Nicks on the Colts' depth chart, but he's still third in the pecking order behind T.Y. Hilton and Reggie Wayne. It's not out of the question for Moncrief to pass Wayne by season's end, but for now he's a low-volume player whose fantasy value is reliant on big plays. Add him and hope his ascension up the depth chart continues.

Marqise Lee, Jaguars

vs. Texans, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET

With Allen Robinson on IR, Lee has assumed the role of young Jaguars receiver to watch. Over the past two weeks, Lee has nine catches for 127 yards and a touchdown, and he's seen more passes sent his way than teammates Cecil Shorts and Allen Hurns. The Jaguars' passing attack isn't capable of producing high-end fantasy value, but Lee has a chance to work his way into starting consideration in deeper leagues.

Tight End

Jordan Reed, Redskins

vs. Rams, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET

Reed returned from injury in Week 13 and immediately slotted in as a top target for Colt McCoy, catching nine of 11 targets for 123 yards. Reed is a mid-range TE1 when healthy, but he's rarely healthy. Add him and cross your fingers that he can stay out of the trainer's room for the duration of the fantasy playoffs.
