Diamondbacks manager: Yasmany Tomas slotted to play 3rd base
The Arizona Diamondbacks haven't officially announced the signing of Cuban slugger Yasmany Tomas, but manager Chip Hale is reportedly already thinking about where he'll play on the field next season.

The Diamondbacks have reportedly inked Tomas, who has historically played an outfield corner spot, to a six-year, $68.5-million contract. Scouts believe he moves around well despite his 6-foot-1, 229-pound frame and should be fit to play third base in the majors as long as he keeps his weight in check.
The positional change makes sense considering the Diamondbacks have a hole to fill at the hot corner. Prospect Jake Lamb may need a little more grooming in the minors and Cliff Pennington and Aaron Hill aren't natural third basemen.
