The Roma goalkeeper committed a cardinal sin in Saturday's contest against lowly Sassuolo, dallying on the ball before smacking his clearance off onrushing attacker Simone Zaza and watching helplessly as the ball careened into the net.
Oops.
Zaza would double the lead later in the opening half, but a pair of second-half goals from Adem Ljajic helped spare De Sanctis' blushed and ensure that Roma did not drop all three points.
