The search for Miguel Montero's replacement may turn to Toronto or Detroit, Arizona Diamondbacks general manager Dave Stewart told AZcentral's Nick Piecoro.

Stewart dealt Montero to the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday, leaving a hole behind the plate in the desert.

Navarro is now expendable for the Blue Jays after they inked Russell Martin to a five-year deal, while Avila is on the Tigers' books for $5.4 million next season and will become a free agent at season's end.

Arizona has been very active early this offseason, trading shortstop Didi Gregorius, acquiring pitcher Jeremy Hellickson and signing Cuban slugger Yasmany Tomas, to name a few of Stewart's moves since taking over as GM.
