Report: Dodgers set to trade Matt Kemp to Padres
The Los Angeles Dodgers don't sleep.
The club is close to trading Matt Kemp in a blockbuster deal that would see the 30-year-old outfielder head south to the San Diego Padres, according to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman.

"The sides were said to be exchanging final information before a deal is presumably consummated," Heyman posted at 3:36 a.m. ET.
Here's more on what the Dodgers may be getting in return:
The Dodgers asked for catcher Yasmani Grandal plus young pitchers Joe Ross and Zach Eflin. Grandal was believed to be the centerpiece of the package, though it isn't known what the final package was.
There could be plenty of money being exchanged in the deal as well.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports L.A. is sending San Diego $31 million, which leaves the Padres to cover the remaining $75 million over the final five years of Kemp's contract. Nightengale added the the trade needs permission from the commissioner's office because of the money involved.

This deal has reportedly been in the works for a couple of days now, with talk of a third team potentially being involved Wednesday. It's the Dodgers and Padres only, for now, according to Heyman's latest.
