The Seattle Mariners could be falling out of the running for free agent outfielder Melky Cabrera.

The Mariners are unwilling to go beyond a three-year offer for Cabrera, reports Bob Dutton of The News Tribune.

Cabrera is thought to be seeking a five-year deal in the $60-million range after rejecting a $15.3-million qualifying offer from his former team, the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Mariners would also have to forfeit a draft pick as compensation if they were to sign Cabrera, albeit only a second rounder. Their first-round pick is being used as compensation for signing Nelson Cruz.

The Kansas City Royals, Chicago White Sox, San Francisco Giants and Baltimore Orioles also have interest in the career .286 hitter.
