Will Muschamp interviewed earlier this week with Houston for its vacant head coaching position.

The former head coach at Florida met with Mack Rhoades, the Cougars' vice president for intercollegiate athletics, and a university search committee at an undisclosed location, according to Joseph Duarte of the Houston Chronicle.

The Gators announced that Muschamp would be stepping down on Nov. 16 after going 28-21 in four seasons. He was 6-5 this season.

The Cougars fired their head coach, Tony Levine, on Monday. He went 7-5 this year and 21-17 overall in four seasons in Houston.
