UAB's starting quarterback Cody Clements and wide receiver/running back D.J. Vinson announced they plan to play at South Alabama next season, according to AL.com's Tommy Hicks.

Clements and Vinson will join three of their teammates on the Jaguars as well as offensive coordinator Bryant Vincent

"Basically it's at being at home, by being in Alabama,'' Vinson said of why he chose South Alabama. "I love the facilities, I love the way coach (Joey) Jones handles his business and I've been with coach Vincent for a year and he really showed a lot of loyalty and I really feel like I trust him and everything he's trying to do to make me a better football player.'

Clements also added that Vincent was a large reason why he'll play for the Jaguars.

They join former Blazers quarterback Austin Chipoletti and offensive linemen Lee Dufour and Cameron Blankenship at South Alabama.

Clements threw for 2,227 yards, 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 11 games for the Blazers, while Vinson rushed for 670 yards and nine touchdowns on 166 carries.

Both will enroll in January and are likely to take part in spring practices. They each have one season of eligibility left.
