Kevin Love sitting with back spasms Wednesday
The last time Kevin Love had back spasms he was able to play the next day. He's not as lucky this time around.
Love left the Cleveland Cavaliers' game on Tuesday in the third quarter and never returned, but had expressed optimism his back would feel better after a night of rest. That's not the case, as Love was said to be feeling poorly on Wednesday and will sit out as the Cavs take on the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Cavaliers will also be without LeBron James, who is sitting with knee soreness, and could be without Shawn Marion. Anderson Varejao is out for the season.
Who, exactly, will be in the frontcourt then? It's tough to tell beyond Tristan Thompson, but the Cavs will almost surely go small. In a fourth quarter without all of those players Tuesday, the Cavs used James Jones as the de facto power forward. They'll almost surely play three guards for most of the game, perhaps dusting off Brendan Haywood or Lou Amundson for help in the post.
While Love hasn't been quite himself this year, his absence will be felt, especially on the offensive end. In 31 games, he's averaging 16.7 points, 10.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists, shooting 34.2 percent from long range and helping lift the offense by 5.5 points per-100 possessions compared to when he's on the bench.
