Cowboys rally to defeat Lions, will face Packers in divisional round
The Dallas Cowboys are heading to the divisional round to take on the Green Bay Packers after a 24-20 comeback victory over the Detroit Lions.
Detroit jumped out to a quick lead after a pair of first quarter touchdowns andappeared to have the Cowboys on their heels. However, Dallas settled in and rallied from a 13-point second-half deficit to score 17 unanswered points for the win.
Tony Romo's 8-yard touchdown pass to Terrance Williams with 2:32 to play put the Cowboys on top for good.
The Lions had one final chance, but a sack-fumble of Matthew Stafford ended the ball game.
Top Performers
Terrance Williams, WR, Cowboys
92 yards receiving, 2 TDs
Williams made the most of his three catches and his two touchdowns were the difference in the game. He really stepped up with the Lions frequently doubling Dez Bryant.
Tony Romo, QB, Cowboys
293 yards passing, 2 TDs
Romo was clutch and led the Cowboys to a second-half comeback. He did a lot to silence his naysayers that felt he couldn't win the big game.
Turning Point
With Detroit up 20-17 early in the fourth quarter, Stafford looked downfield for Brandon Pettigrew on a third-and-1 from the Dallas 46. Cowboys linebacker Anthony Hitchens was initially called for pass interference, but the flag was picked up without explanation.
Had it stood, Detroit would have been in position to add to its lead. Instead, they had to punt and after a brutal 10-yard boot, the Cowboys took advantage for the go-ahead score.

It will be a battle of two of the league's best offenses, and the difference may ultimately be which defense steps up and makes a few plays.
