Belfort passes multiple drug tests leading up to UFC 184

It appears Vitor Belfort is fighting clean these days.

The former UFC Light Heavyweight champion has been randomly drug tested on three occasions leading up to his middleweight title clash with Chris Weidman at UFC 184, and has come up clean each time.

"Both him and his wife have been extremely cooperative, polite, professional and friendly throughout this process," Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) executive director Bob Bennett told MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani. "They have been consummate pros to date."

Belfort was initially scheduled to face Weidman in Las Vegas on Dec. 6, and the NAC agreed to grant him a licence if he gave the commission full cooperation random regarding drug tests.

Although the fight was eventually bumped to Feb. 28 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles after Weidman suffered a hand injury, the NAC, in conjunction with the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC), has continued to randomly test the "Young Dinosaur".

"I'm not letting him get into a cage and fighting someone until I'm comfortable that he is fighting clean," CSAC executive officer Andy Foster said.

"I think Bob (Bennett) is doing an outstanding job with the testing."
