Anderson Silva granted license to fight at UFC 183

Anderson Silva was officially granted a license by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) for his fight against Nick Diaz at UFC 183 on Jan. 31.

The former Middleweight conqueror, who hasn't stepped foot inside the Octagon since suffering a gruesome leg injury against Chris Weidman in December of 2013, called into the NAC's monthly meeting on Monday, a requirement of all fighters 35 and older seeking a license to fight in the state.

It was also announced that veteran referee "Big" John McCarthy would be the third man in the cage for Silva vs. Diaz, while Glenn Trowbridge, Sal D'Amato and Marcos Rosales will serve as judges.
