Radamel Falcao's agent on client's future: 'Time is needed, we'll see what happens'

Radamel Falcao's future at Old Trafford remains clouded by uncertainty.

In conversation with SkySport Italia, the Colombian striker's agent, Jorge Mendes, insisted that nothing is certain regarding his client's season-long loan at Manchester United and suggested that Falcao could find himself at a new club come next season.

"He is a very good player, the Manchester United fans have a fantastic player," Mendes said, according to the Guardian. "He could play in any team, anything could happen. One hundred percent, he will be at one of the best teams in the world, if it's United or not. But time is needed, we'll see what happens."

A report surfaced in Spanish daily Marca on New Year's Day that claimed United were set to sign Falcao on a permanent basis. However, that appears to be far from the case now, particularly given manager Louis van Gaal's decision to drop the player from United's squad ahead of their 1-0 loss at home to Southampton on Sunday.

Van Gaal had no issue allowing 15 players to be sold or go on loan upon joining United last year, and if Falcao - who has been hampered by injuries and only scored three goals for the club - continues to struggle in front of goal, it doesn't seem like a stretch to assume that the Dutch manager will decide against offering El Tigre a permanent deal.
