Clippers land Austin Rivers in 3-team trade involving Suns, Celtics
The Los Angeles Clippers finally got their man.
Shooting guard Austin Rivers, progeny of Clippers head coach and general manager Doc Rivers, is on his way to Los Angeles as part of a three-team deal that will see small forward Reggie Bullock land with the Phoenix Suns and power forward Shavlik Randolph with the Boston Celtics.
Dan Woike of the Orange County Register adds that the deal also reportedly includes swingman Chris Douglas-Roberts going to the Celtics, though according to Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald, he's expected to be waived. The Celtics will also acquire a 2017 second-round draft pick. Because they certainly didn't have enough of those.

The Clippers have been known to be coveting Rivers since the wheels were put in motion for a separate three-team deal that ultimately sent him to the Celtics from the New Orleans Pelicans last week.
The Celtics were unwilling to part with Rivers, whose contract expires at the end of the season, unless they got another expiring deal to match. Enter the Suns, who were able to contribute the expiring salary of the little-used Randolph and pull in a capable rotation wing in Bullock for their troubles.
According to Woike, the Clippers plan to either trade or waive reserve point guard Jordan Farmar for roster and cap flexibility once the deal is finalized.
The trade was announced Thursday night.
