The Miami Marlins avoided arbitration with a trio of young players moments before Friday's deadline to exchange salary figures by agreeing to contract terms for 2015 with Dee Gordon, Henderson Alvarez and Steve Cishek.

Gordon, acquired last month in a trade from the Los Angeles Dodgers, will earn $2.5 million in 2015, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. The 26-year-old is expected to hit leadoff for the Marlins this coming season after posting a 2.89/.326/.378 line with 64 stolen bases over 148 games in 2014.

The Marlins also agreed to a $4-million salary for Alvarez next season, reports Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. The right-hander fashioned a career-best 2.65 ERA over 30 starts in 2014, earning his first career All-Star appearance.

Cishek, meanwhile, agreed to terms on a $6.65-million deal for 2015, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. The 28-year-old notched a 3.17 ERA with a career-best 30.6 percent strikeout rate over 67 appearances last season and is expected to reprise his role as closer in 2015.
