Anthony Davis probable to return Wednesday

Anthony Davis has been upgraded to probable for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers after missing the last three games with a sprained toe.

Davis had been listed as questionable earlier on Tuesday.

The New Orleans Pelicans beat the Toronto Raptors without their All-Star on Sunday, but they've also dropped games to the lowly Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks without him, the latter of which saw the Knicks end a 16-game losing streak.

Their reliance on Davis is evidenced by the fact that the team outscores opponents by 3.3 points per 100 possessions when he's on the court, according to NBA.com, a mark that would rank 11th in the league. With Davis on the bench, however, the Pelicans are outscored by 8.8 points per 100 possessions, a mark that would rank 27th, ahead of only the Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves and 76ers.

Davis is averaging 24.2 points, 10.4 rebounds, a league-leading 2.9 blocks, 1.6 assists and 1.5 steals for the Pelicans, who at 20-21, sit four games back of the eighth and final Western Conference playoff spot.
