Report: Marlins have not received an offer from any team for Haren

Miami Marlins right-hander Dan Haren's request to pitch for a team on the West Coast has apparently not been reciprocated by the teams occupying that geographical region.

Though the Marlins have said they would try to accommodate Haren's request to pitch closer to home, they have yet to receive an offer from any team, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald

Haren initially threatened to retire should he not be traded, but told the Marlins earlier in the month that he will attend spring training.

"Our expectation is he will be in spring training and be ready to be one of five and help this club where it wants to go until October," general manager Michael Hill said. "He's made it clear his preference is to be on a West Coast club and we respect that. But we’re trying to put a championship club together and if something doesn't materialize for him, we'll be excited to have him as a Marlin."

Haren was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers earlier in the offseason as part of a seven-player trade. The 34-year-old has thrown at least 169 innings in each of the past four seasons and finished the 2014 campaign with a 13-11 record to go with a 4.02 ERA.

The most likely scenario for Haren landing on the West Coast is to wait and see if a starter from another team suffers an injury and hope they make a trade for him.
