Anaheim Ducks forward Ryan Kesler isn't making any new friends against his former team after hitting Vancouver Canucks forward Derek Dorsett in the head during the second period of Tuesday's game.
Kesler lined up Dorsett in Anaheim's zone on a Vancouver power play and appeared to raise his elbow into Dorsett's face as the players collided.
Dorsett left the game with an upper-body injury and will not return. Kesler was not penalized on the play but the NHL Department of Player Safety will likely look at the hit.
Canucks forward Zack Kassian retaliated by throwing a late hit on the following shift and was called for roughing. Kyle Palmieri scored on the ensuing power play to give Anaheim a 2-0 lead.
