Knicks' Stoudemire sprains ankle, uncertain to play Monday

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Power forward Amar'e Stoudemire is the latest member of the New York Knicks to sustain an injury.

On Saturday, Stoudemire injured his ankle in a loss to the Charlotte Hornets and is questionable to play on Monday against the Sacramento Kings, reports Al Iannazzone of Newsday.

Stoudemire has been in and out of the Knicks lineup this season, missing time due to a lingering knee injury. He has also split his time between the bench and the starting unit.

On the year, Stoudemire is averaging 12.2 points and seven rebounds in 24.9 minutes per game.

If history is any indication, Stoudemire will turn to taking red wine baths to soothe his ankle.
