Detroit Red Wings forward Pavel Datsyuk registered an assist on Tomas Tatar's first-period goal in Saturday's 4-1 win over the New York Islanders, tying a legend in the process.
Datsyuk tied Sergei Fedorov for fifth on the franchise's all-time assist list with the 554th helper of his career.
It was his 23rd assist and 38th point of the season.
