Celtics' Bradley playing through thumb fracture
Avery Bradley doesn't intend to sit out, despite suffering a thumb fracture in Sunday's loss to the Miami Heat.
The Boston Celtics' guard sprained his left thumb and said X-rays revealed a little fracture, according to Jay King of MassLive.com. He added that the thumb has been bothering him for a while.
Bradley went on to score a team-high 17 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field in 33 minutes. The injury is to his non-shooting hand.
"It's been messed up, I think I fractured it today (when) I fell on it (going for a steal)," Bradley said, according to ESPN's Chris Forsberg. "But it's fine... I'll just go out there and keep playing - tape it up and keep playing."
Bradley, in the first of a four-year deal signed with the Celtics in the offseason, is averaging 13.1 points on 42.6 percent shooting from the field. The inconsistent scorer is also converting on a team-high 1.4 3-pointers per game, while shooting 34.6 percent from long range.
He'll get a day to recover before the Celtics visit the New York Knicks on Tuesday.
