Rangers' Lundqvist out at least 3 weeks with neck injury
The New York Rangers will be without Henrik Lundqvist for a significant amount of time.
Lundqvist will miss at least three weeks due to the neck injury that kept him out of Wednesday's game according to a release from the team, which clarifies an earlier report by Larry Brooks of the New York Post that suggested the Rangers netminder would be sidelined for a month.
Here is the official statement from the Rangers:
Henrik Lundqvist suffered a vascular injury on Saturday. We have been conferring with leading medical experts to ensure the best possible care. Henrik will remain sidelined at least three weeks, until he is reevaluated and we have completed the process of conferring with the medical experts.
Cam Talbot will start Saturday's game against the Nashville Predators in place of Lundqvist. Talbot has a 2.14 goals-against average and .924 save percentage in 12 appearances in 2014-15.
