George Karl hints at interest in coaching Magic
This should come as no surprise to anyone paying attention to the NBA's coaching carousel, but George Karl, former Coach of the Year, is interested in returning to the sidelines.
In response to the Orlando Magic's dismissal of Jacque Vaughn, Karl tweeted his not-so-subtle interest in coaching the Magic.
Karl has yet to find employment in the NBA since being named Coach of the Year in 2012-13 for leading the Denver Nuggets to a 57-win season. The 63-year-old has since worked as an analyst for ESPN.
Karl amassed a wealth of success over his 25-year career as an NBA head coach. He boasts a regular-season record of 1131-756 (.599 winning percentage) in the regular season, but a disappointing 80-105 (.432 winning percentage) record in the postseason.
The Magic named assistant head coach James Borrego interim coach in Vaughn's absence. Former Milwaukee Bucks head coach Scott Skiles's name has also been linked to the Magic's vacancy.
