If the Toronto Maple Leafs decide to part ways with defenseman Cody Franson, it's not going to come cheap.

The Maple Leafs front office is reportedly asking for a first-round pick as well as a prospect, Bob McKenzie told TSN Radio

With the team sitting 13 points out of the final wild card spot heading into Tuesday's game with the New York Rangers, the Maple Leafs are expected to be sellers at the trade deadline.

Franson is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and the 27-year-old reportedly shot down a multi-year extension offer worth $4.6 million annually.

Franson leads all Maple Leafs defenseman with six goals and 31 points. In 52 games, he has posted a minus-6 rating while averaging 21:19 minutes of ice time.

The Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings and Nashville Predators are said to have expressed interest in acquiring Franson.
