Wade not expected to travel with Heat, All-Star appearance in doubt

When Dwyane Wade told south Florida media 11 days ago that he wouldn't be seeing them for a while due to a hamstring injury, he apparently meant it. 

Wade is not expected to travel with the Heat to Cleveland for Miami's final game before the All-Star break, likely ending any hopes the guard would play in Sunday's showcase in New York. 

Wade has been on the shelf for the last six games with a right hamstring strain, but hadn't completely closed the door on playing in the All-Star Game. Wade was named as an Eastern Conference reserve guard after being beaten out by a late push of fan votes for Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry. 

NBA commissioner Adam Silver is expected to name Atlanta Hawks marksman Kyle Korver as a replacement if Wade can't play. 

The Heat pulled off their biggest comeback of the season Monday night against the New York Knicks, winning 109-95 after trailing 14 early. It was Miami's second victory in six tries since Wade went on the sidelines on Jan. 29.

Wade is averaging a team-high 21.4 points and 5.4 assists in a career-low 32.3 minutes.
