Shuttle Run
The shuttle run is a drill that tests players' agility, lateral quickness and short bursts of acceleration. A player starts in a three-point stance and sprints five yards, where they touch the ground. They'll then turn and sprint 10 yards in the opposite direction before finishing with a five-yard dash back to where they started.

Notable Performances
Brandin Cooks sets all-time record, moves into first round
Oregon State's Brandin Cooks improved his stock dramatically after posting the best shuttle run time ever at the 2014 combine. Cooks' 3.81 run showcased his exceptional quickness, and proved to scouts he has more than just pure straight-line speed. His excellent performance helped him surge up draft boards, and the New Orleans Saints selected him 20th overall.
Montee Ball posts worst time of 2013
Montee Ball had a legendary career at Wisconsin, setting the FBS record for career touchdowns with 77. But Ball hurt his draft stock with an abysmal 4.40 shuttle run time, and slid out of the first round. The Denver Broncos selected him 58th overall.
2015 Top Prospect Prediction
Sammie Coates, WR, Auburn
Coates is exceptionally quick for a 6-foot-2 wide receiver, and he could get off the line in a couple steps due to his long gait. The Auburn star is expected to be a late first-round pick, and might move up many teams' draft boards with a strong performance.
