Dmitry Kulikov is being called upon to explain his actions from Friday.
The Florida Panthers defenseman has been offered an in-person hearing for clipping Tyler Seguin of the Dallas Stars, the Department of Player Safety has announced.
Seguin was placed on injured reserve early Saturday, and is expected to be out two-to-four weeks with a lower-body injury.
Kulikov has no history of supplemental discipline, but could be in line to sit out more than five games due to the nature of the in-person hearing.
Brad Marchand was suspended five games in 2012 for a similar incident.
