Charles Oakley: Knicks owner Dolan 'a bad guy'
Charles Oakley has never been one to mince words, and his latest target is oft-criticized New York Knicks' owner Jim Dolan.
Oakley, who became a fan favorite at Madison Square Garden for his tenacious play in 10 years with the Knicks, can't understand why Dolan froze him out over time.
"As hard as I played for that motherf----r, and he don't want to talk with me?" Oakley said Wednesday at the Times Square Knickerbocker Hotel, as reported by the New York Daily News' Christian Red.
"Everybody in New York liked me except this one guy. Why is this?" Oakley said. "Everywhere I talk to people - 'Why aren't you working with the Knicks?' I said I try to. They said, 'What, is it Dolan?' I talked to maybe a million people. He's a bad guy."
Oakley, who said he has to buy Knicks tickets on StubHub like everyone else, added he has tried to mend his relationship with Dolan, to no avail.
"I asked the commissioner to set up a meeting with (Dolan), take a step forward. I want to know what I did to be hated so bad by an owner. The dad (Charles Dolan), I never heard him say nothing bad about me. I asked players I played with to go talk with (James Dolan). He said he don't want to deal with me."
