The Seattle Seahawks appear to be doing their best to make sure Marshawn Lynch doesn't retire.
Seattle has offered Lynch a multi-year contract extension, according to Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports.
Getlin indicated that the first year of the deal would pay Lynch as much as $11 or $12 million, with $9 million coming in the second year.
Lynch is heading into the final year of his contract with the Seahawks and is only scheduled to make $5 million in base salary.
The star back held out of training camp for a week last year after being unhappy with his current deal, and rumors have persisted recently that he is considering retirement.
A lucrative extension could sway him to return for a ninth season.
