Bulls' Gibson leaves game with ankle injury, will not return
Things aren't getting any easier for the Chicago Bulls.
Power forward Taj Gibson left Friday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a left ankle injury in the second quarter and will not return.
Gibson has a history with left ankle issues - he's had three sprains in that ankle since the beginning of 2012, and this could be a fourth. He's been dealing with an ankle issue all season, something he admitted won't fully heal this year.
He's also been playing for the last month with a torn ligament in his left hand. Given the Bulls' profound injury situation, Chicago's third big man has foraged on, continuing to play.
In good news for the Bulls, they found out Friday morning that Derrick Rose's surgery was successful and the star point guard should return in four-to-six weeks.
But, as has been the case with the franchise so often over the last few years, one piece of injury news is usually followed up by another, completely different one.
