- Fabricio Werdum will try to get the "interim" tag removed from his title when he faces division overlord Cain Velasquez at UFC 188 in June.
- Former top-five heavyweight Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva slipped off the list completely after a brutal knockout loss to Frank Mir at a Fight Night event in February. Silva has now dropped three of his last four, with each one of those losses coming via violent KO or TKO.
- Stipe Miocic and Mark Hunt will both try to vault back into the title picture when they square off at UFC Fight Night 65 in May. Both men are coming off losses, with Miocic dropping a unanimous decision to former champion Junior dos Santos at UFC on FOX 13, and Hunt losing his bid for the interim title against Werdum at UFC 180.
