- Rory MacDonald will finally get a chance to vie for the 170-pound title when he takes on Robbie Lawler at UFC 189 in July. The two fought each other at UFC 167 in November of 2013, with Lawler emerging victorious via razor-close split decision.
- MacDonald was originally scheduled to face Hector Lombard at UFC 186 in Montreal, but Lombard was pulled from the card after he tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs following a victory over Josh Burkman at UFC 182.
- Former division kingpin Johny Hendricks will look to vault himself back into the title picture with a win over fellow top-10 fighter Matt Brown, in what should be a glorious display of ultra-violence at UFC 185.
