Chris Johnson released from hospital after gunshot to shoulder
Former New York Jets running back Chris Johnson was released from an Orlando hospital Monday after being shot in the shoulder.
EAG Sports Management issued the following statement on behalf of Johnson:
"Chris Johnson was released from the hospital yesterday and is doing well. He thanks everyone for their support surrounding this unfortunate incident as well as their condolences regarding the passing of his good friend. He is expected to make a quick and full recovery and is looking forward to being back out on the field training as soon as possible."
Johnson, an Orlando native, and two others were in a Jeep that came under fire at a stoplight early Sunday morning. Officers arrived to find the driver dead inside the vehicle and two other men with gunshot wounds on the sidewalk.
Johnson and the other surviving victim were both taken to the hospital in stable condition. Johnson will not require surgery and will continue to recover at home, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
