Celtics top Heat, Miami blows chance to move back into 8th
The Miami Heat have had a weird week. On Friday, brutally undermanned, they came back from a 35-point deficit to nearly beat the Washington Wizards.
On Monday, with two of their starters back and Chris Bosh warmly welcomed back to American Airlines Arena, they were beaten soundly by the Boston Celtics. The loss threw away a golden opportunity to move back into the final playoff spot in the East thanks to an earlier loss by the Charlotte Hornets.
The Heat lost control of themselves in the second half - center Hassan Whiteside was given a flagrant-2 and thrown out after a cheap shot on Kelly Olynyk. He'll likely be hearing from the NBA head office on Tuesday.
Then in the fourth, Henry Walker was ejected after tussling with the Celtics' Evan Turner.
Isaiah Thomas once again led Boston with 25 points off the bench. Brandon Bass had 14 points and nine rebounds.
Dwyane Wade had a game-high 34 points in the loss.
