Freddy Adu signs with Finnish club, becomes 11th team of his career
Look up persistence in the dictionary, and you will find a photo of Freddy Adu.
The American attacker, now 25, signed a one-year contract with Finnish club Kuopion Pallosuera on Saturday, adding yet another team, and country, to the ever-growing list on his resume.

Adu burst onto the scene in 2004 when, as a 14-year-old, he became the youngest athlete to sign a professional contract, joining D.C. United. His appearance in a match against San Jose later that year made him the youngest player to ever feature in the league as well.
The following years saw Adu bounce all around the globe in an attempt to continuously revive his career, which fizzled out after showing so much promise in its infancy. With this latest signing, the Ghana-born forward's list of clubs is extensive as it is, in the latter stages, obscure:
- D.C. United (United States)
- Real Salt Lake (United States)
- Benfica (Portugal)
- Monaco (France)
- Belenenses (Portugal)
- Aris (Greece)
- Cakur Rizespor (Turkey)
- Philadelphia Union (United States)
- Bahia (Brazil)
- Jagodina (Serbia)
- Kuopion Palloseura (Finland)
His newest, and now 11th, club released a brief statement on the signing, noting that the deal will be made official with a press conference after the completion of a medical.
