VIDEO: Ex-NHLer Andre Deveaux attacks opponent with stick prior to game in Sweden
Andre Deveaux appears headed for Swede justice.
The former NHL forward, drafted 182nd overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 2002, viciously attacked an opponent prior to a playoff game in Sweden between Deveaux's club, Rogle BK, and Vasteras IK.
While the incident took place during the pre-game warmups, Deveaux was allowed to play in the game with no penalty levied at the time of the incident. The attack on Per Helmersson is believed to have stemmed from a hit that took place in the previous playoff game between the two clubs.
One would expect Deveaux to be disciplined, and possibly quite severely, upon further review.
The 31-year-old appeared in 31 career NHL games with Toronto Maple Leafs and the New York Rangers, recording two assists and 104 penalty minutes.
