Curry surprised by Jackson's pick of Harden for MVP
There's no written rule that a former coach has to back one of his former players in his choice for an MVP award. Ex-Golden State Warriors coach and current broadcaster Mark Jackson proved as much Thursday, picking James Harden of the Houston Rockets for the league honor this season over his own former leading scorer, Stephen Curry.
While Jackson's issues with the upper brass of the Warriors organization are well-documented and flat-out understandable, what raised some eyebrows was the fact that Curry backed Jackson during the coach's well-publicized exit from Oakland last spring.
Curry was diplomatic about Jackson's support for Harden on Friday, but admittedly surprised.

"Roll with it" Steph will, I'm sure. Between his former coach going rogue on him and the Rockets lobbying media with video books, now might be a good time to point out that Curry's last 50-point outing came against the Dallas Mavericks on Feb. 4.
The Warriors play the Mavericks on Saturday. Just saying.
