Jeremy Lin out for Lakers again Friday, awaiting MRI results
Jeremy Lin's disappointing career as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers may have come to an unceremonious end.
Lin will miss a second consecutive game Friday due to a sore left knee while the team awaits MRI results to determine the extent of the injury. The soreness flared up before Wednesday's loss to the Denver Nuggets, with Lin getting scratched shortly before tip-off.
After Friday, the Lakers have three games remaining on the schedule, so if Lin's injury is serious at all, he'll probably be shut down.
Should this be the end of Lin's lone season in Hollywood, he'll finish with averages of 11.2 points and 4.6 assists, somewhat disappointing production considering the opportunity he had to post numbers in a lost season with few quality teammates. Lin fell out of favor with head coach Byron Scott at times due to a perceived lack of toughness, but he should still be able to land a multi-year deal as a quality backup this offseason.
Lin's absence Wednesday made for an all-Missouri backcourt for the Lakers, with Jordan Clarkson and Jabari Brown combining for 32 points. Brown would probably stand to start in Lin's stead once again Friday.
