Pierce on a potential Game 5 in Toronto: 'I don't want to go through customs no more'
Paul Pierce isn't about the hassle of international travel.
If Pierce had his way, he would prefer for his Washington Wizards to wrap up their series against the Toronto Raptors in four games.
"I don't want to go through customs no more," Pierce told Michael Lee of the Washington Post following the Wizards' Game 2 victory on Tuesday. The Wizards lead 2-0 after taking both games in Toronto.
In all fairness, given the way the Raptors have played in their first two games of the series, Pierce just might get his wish. The Raptors shot 38 percent in Game 1 and allowed Washington to shoot 53.2 percent from the field in Game 2.
The Raptors are also dealing with an injury to their lone All-Star in point guard Kyle Lowry, who left Game 2 with a shin contusion. He will be re-evaluated on Wednesday. If he is unable to play, the Raptors will have no choice by to start slow-footed Greivis Vasquez to defend lightning-quick John Wall.
Pierce has been an integral part of Washington's attack. By deploying him at power forward, the Wizards have given the Raptors' shaky defense fits as it has opened up a deadly high spread pick-and-roll attack.
