Tickets for Mayweather-Pacquiao bout sell out in less than a minute
Tickets for the highly anticipated fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao went on sale at 3 p.m. ET on Thursday.
By 3:01 p.m. ET they had sold out.
The retail price for tickets for the bout at the 16,800-seat MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas ranged from $1,500 to $7,500 per ticket.
The May 2 fight is also available via pay-per-view for a cost of $99. MGM will also sell seats to its different Las Vegas venues for $150 apiece where fans will be able to watch the fight via closed circuit broadcast.
The bout is expected to be the richest in boxing history, with both fighters taking home over $100 million.
The fight was made official Wednesday when members of Top Rank Boxing, Mayweather Promotions and the MGM Grand reached an agreement, resolving issues which included a dispute over millions of dollars in tickets.
"I don't worry about tickets," Mayweather said, according to Sports Illustrated. "I worry about the guy in front of me, which is going to be Manny Pacquiao. That's my whole focus."
