Tickets for Mayweather-Pacquiao weigh-in go on sale Friday
Anyone who wasn't lucky enough to snag one of the 500 available tickets for the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight on May 2 will have a chance at the next best thing.
Tickets for the weigh-in are slated to go on sale at 3 p.m. ET Friday and will only cost $10. The event takes place on May 1 and all proceeds will go to charity.
Weigh-ins are typically free to the public in Nevada on a first come, first served basis, but concerns about the crowds forced an exception to be made.
"The weigh-in is always the grand finale of fight week activities," Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions said via ESPN. "And with the massive interest in this fight, the number of fans looking to attend the official weigh-in is going to be something we've never seen before. We're excited to be able to use the enthusiasm around this event to provide donations to two very deserving charities."
Mayweather is donating his portion of the funds to a breast cancer charity, while Pacquiao will give his to a foundation that does research on the brain health of boxers.
