Overview:
Harkins is described as a solid two-way center who can do a bit of everything. He is a smooth skater with a solid shot and good play-making abilities. He has a solid frame standing at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds.
Some have described his style of play as similar to that of Boston Bruins forward David Krejci. His biggest asset is believed to be his work ethic and his high IQ, which not only makes him dangerous, but those around him as well.
What the scouts are saying:
"The scouting report on Jansen Harkins is that of a player that is smart and tenacious and wants to and does find ways to make a difference in the game," said TSN's Director of Scouting, Craig Button. "He is so mentally attuned to what is unfolding that because he is physically and mentally determined, he finds ways to make plays and knows what has to happen. There are very little style grades for him, but when it comes to helping teams win he gets an A+. ... He is a player who teams see as a top-2 center who can make a difference."
