The Edmonton Oilers selected Connor McDavid with the first overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.
Obviously.
McDavid is the franchise-altering, conference-shaking talent the Oilers have been without for the last several decades, and will immediately step into a top-line role to enhance what's been a futile on-ice product in Edmonton since their run to the Stanley Cup Final nine years ago.

Overview
Plenty of superlatives have been used to describe McDavid's incredible draft-eligible season, and rightfully so. He averaged more than 2.5 points per game during the regular season and scored 49 points in 20 playoff games, breaking numerous franchise and league records in the process.
McDavid is the most decorated player in OHL history, earning six different individual trophies during his junior career. He is far and away the top draft-eligible player and has proven why time and again - often making older, drafted prospects look foolish in the process.
While the Oshawa Generals defeated the Erie Otters in the OHL championship to prevent Erie from securing a Memorial Cup berth, McDavid will have plenty more opportunities to compete for championships in what will almost surely be a long and storied professional career.
What the scouts are saying
"He's as good as I've seen in the last 30 years, the best player to come into the League in the last 30 years, the best to come along since (Mario) Lemieux and (Sidney) Crosby. He can definitely change a franchise's fortunes." - Wayne Gretzky
"The scary part is the best is yet to come with Connor McDavid. I've been watching him for three years and he can still show you something new or something different. He's just continually showing you something new in his arsenal." - Dan Marr, NHL Central Scouting
