Senators coach Cameron 'has contract sitting on my table at home'; GM Murray to return
After turning the struggling Ottawa Senators into a playoff team, it appears head coach Dave Cameron has been rewarded.
During the team's final press conference Wednesday, Cameron told reporters he had a contract he received from general manager Bryan Murray at home.
"It's sitting on my kitchen table," Cameron said. "I haven't opened it yet."
Cameron insisted that the team has been fair with him since he joined, and that he didn't expect there to be any problems moving forward with the club.
In other news, Murray told reporters he would return next season as the team's general manager.
His position had been in doubt after it was revealed earlier this year that the 72-year-old has terminal colon cancer.
Murray said his health has been steady and doctors told him that as long as that continues it will be business as usual.
The Senators finished the season in the first Wild Card spot, but fell to the Montreal Canadiens 4-2 in the first round.
